Advanced Lessons for a Conscious Life

addiction recovery advanced bitches complex ptsd conscious living consciously ptsd Feb 23, 2022

I’m missing my therapist after having one odd experience and one meh experience with two different therapists.  So, I sought the comfort of a book of my Dumbledore’s wisdom and I thought I would share a few lessons from the Head Witch herself.

*You’re working on keeping a strong history from repeating itself.  This takes awareness and vigilance both.  And Mothers loom largest of all.

*Depression and apathy and losing hope and giving up and checking out and saying, “fuck you” to life is you still playing your part in the family system.

*Constant vigilance means constant conscious actions toward recovery including investments in your inner child, investments in recovery, investments in conscious and healthy relationships, and investments in your higher power.

*Talking to others on the path of consciousness is like talking to Hogwarts faculty.

*When you use/relapse, the poison is not the substance.  The poison was already inside you and therefore, you already chose the poison.  The poison is the unconscious acceptance of the family pattern.

*The family is the hardest cult to pull out of.

*You won’t get an award for choosing consciousness, but you will get magic.

*You have made your inner child the scapegoat.

*Your prison of your addiction is the symbolic representation of the prison of your childhood.

*Every plan needs an escape plan.

*The less energy you give a difficult person, the less that energy will be directed back at you.

*All our lives we dreamed there was a magical world and now we can live it, but we have to be checked in to do so.

Magical Assignment:

Which one felt like a gut punch?  I can guarantee you that when it was said the first time to me, I felt it too.
